GMR ties up with Accor Hotels

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has entered into an agreement with the Singapore-based Accor Hotels and Resorts to establish India's first airport hotel at the upcoming international airport at nearby Shamshabad. The five-acre hotel, which would have 300 rooms, would be constructed by GHIAL.

The airport company would hand over the hotel to Accor for operation, managing and maintenance as per the Novotel brand standards. In the first phase, it would have 120 rooms. The hotel would be 2.75 km away from the passenger terminal. Itwould be ready by the time the airport begins commercial operations in March 2008. The lease period is for 10 years. Accor already owns a property at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Madhapur.
