Quint readies for a larger role

V. Rishi Kumar

Consultancy, infrastructure library services

Hyderabad , Dec. 22

Quint Wellington Redwood has made inroads into India with its range of consultancy-cum-infrastructure library services.

The Country Manager of Quint, Mr Sunil Mehta, said, "We are just about beginning to see the increased adoption of technology libraries and Quint is playing a larger role in both consultancy, deployment and training of professionals in India for better IT management."

IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), which Quint provides for clients globally, is a technology process management framework that addresses the challenges of managing IT infrastructure. Enterprises across verticals, including technology firms, use these best practices and guidelines to define an integrated technology in an organisation, and thereby manage IT.

Mr Mehta told Business Line that companies using IT extensively for processes — such as Dell, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, ABN Amro and consultant KPMG — use Quint ITIL.

Formed by five Dutch entrepreneurs, Quint has grown to a 30 million organisation and has four offices in India. With more multinationals entering India and replicating their best practices, and Indian corporations going global, Quint sees itself playing a larger role.

Quint complements technology companies and partners HP, CA, IBM and BMC.

One of the challenges that growing organisations face is the reliability of the technology they create. Quint helps such companies to better use the infrastructure. Significantly, small and medium-sized enterprises would see increased adoption, Mr Mehta said.

Quint has initiated the ITIL Foundation and imparts training to assist technology professionals in standardising their processes for improved productivity, he explained.
