Chennai March 8 Gateway HR Solutions has bagged contracts from Wipro BPO and Citigroup collectively worth about Rs 2.3 crore. Both contracts involve recruitment of candidates, mainly from arts, science and commerce colleges, and are renewable after a year. The Wipro BPO contract is need-based and Gateway will provide candidates for voice and transactional processes (back-end work such as insurance and claims processing and other banking services). According to Mr N. Swaminaathan, Chief Consultant, Gateway HR, the company started providing candidates on a trial basis about 15 days ago and saw that eight out of every 10 offered were considered by Wipro BPO. "This 80 per cent conversion rate reinstates the standard and efficiency of our test and recruitment practices. We are now aiming at bagging a similar deal from Wipro Technologies," he said. Large-scale recruiters such as Ajuba International, Perot Systems and Zensar Technologies are also looking to tie-up with Gateway HR for recruiting candidates at entry-level positions, Mr Swaminaathan said. "We are also exploring opportunities with these companies to train their new recruits as part of induction sessions," he said.
