F Secure detects new Skype worm

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, April 16

F Secure has detected another Skype worm `IM-Worm: W32/Pykse.A' on the prowl.

The worm is said to spread by sending a message with a malware link to all online friends in Skype's contact list using the Skype API. Before sending the message, it would set the infected Skype user's status to DND (Do Not Disturb) but would not notify the user of calls or messages that the status has been set to DND. The user would not receive any calls or messages. When the link is clicked it would automatically download the malware file and show the picture of a lightly dressed woman to avoid suspicion, say sources at F-Secure Security Labs.
