Private equity group Penta Capital to exit Rubicon

New Delhi May 25 Gurgaon based knowledge process outsourcing company EMR Technology Ventures has acquired a UK based BPO Rubicon Group, which includes its three companies — Rubicon Health, Rubicon Claims and Rubicon Inspections for $20 million.

With this acquisition, the company would be able to provide its outsourcing services to Rubicon's clients that are mainly UK insurers and banks.

Expanding Base

"Rubicon's revenue base with blue-chip clients in the UK insurance, banking and corporate self-insured sectors would provide us a platform to grow in Europe," said Mr Nikhil Sinha, President and co-CEO of EMR Technology Ventures.

As per the current arrangement, Rubicon would offer its back office services to its clients and would outsource services to EMR to fill in the gaps and hence work as an onshore-offshore model. However, as more of Rubicon's client's offshore work to India, EMR would be expanding its base here.

"We would be offering services in mortgage, insurance, finance and the accounting domain, which the company does not currently provide its clients," said Mr Rohit Arora, Chairman, EMR.

EMR would increase its head count to about 900 from the current 700. This includes 200 employees of Rubicon, who would be based in the UK.
