TCS signs pact with tech institute

Chennai, Sept. 7

Tata Consultancy Services has signed an agreement with the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi, on academic co-operation. The software company will institute two fellowships — TCS Research Fellowship and TCS Junior Research Fellowship — at NIT.

The TCS Fellowship will facilitate the institute to run a three-year PhD programme in mutually accepted areas. TCS will pay a monthly stipend of Rs 16,000 to each of the Fellows. The TCS Junior Research Fellows will be a two year M S programme (on research) and the company will pay a stipend of Rs 8,000 per month.
