Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Nov. 22 Plus Travels, part of the Mumbai-based JMJ Group, has announced the launch of its airline ticketing portal, focussed on B2B (business to business) initially.

This is a diversification move for the Rs 260-crore JMJ Group. It plans to invest between Rs 150-200 crore in the travel and tourism sectors in the next three years, according to Mr Sachin J. Joshi, Group Vice-Chairman.

JMJ recently acquired the Hyderabad-based Plus Travels for an undisclosed amount and is in the process of completing the acquisition, he told newspersons on the eve of the portal launch.

The 11-year old Plus Travels, with a turnover of Rs 20-25 crore, is a leading travel and ticketing company in Hyderabad. Post acquisition, the promoter couple Mr & Mrs Pupender Singh Kukreja would be on the board of the new entity Plustravels.com, Mr Kukreja said.

Expansion plans for JMJ’s travel and tourism include setting up of branches in major metros, broad basing into chartering of aircraft, offering rent-a-car service, and domestic and international leisure and business tourism, Mr Joshi said.

JMJ is into manufacturing, hotels, construction, retail and now travel and tourism, while its core business is perfumery blending and manufacturing of herbal extracts.

Plustravels.com will offer multi-sector, multi-airline bookings, and is poised to be the first portal to offer travel insurance free of cost, Mr Ashok Harkara, Chief Operations Officer, said.
