Akmin mobile Web site builder

Our Bureau

Chennai, Aug. 14 Akmin, the Chennai-based software product company, has launched a mobile Web site builder ( www.mobisitegalore.com) that enables people to build a full-fledged Web site using their mobile phones.

Mobile Web sites — contents of which are designed to be viewed on mobile phones — are becoming popular abroad. Citing an example the company’s managing director, Mr S. Prashanth, said the New York Times has content that is customised to view on the mobile.

To build the mobile Web site, anyone having a GPRS connection on their mobile phone can visit www.mobisitegalore.com and sign up for free and start building one. There is no software or plug-in to be downloaded. Mobisitegalore.com also provides a free Web Site address to publish and host the mobile Web Site after it is built, he told newspersons.

The company will sell the new service as a software tool to telecom services providers, who in turn will provide the service to their customers.
