Micro Technologies (India) Ltd has introduced a product called Micr CallBlocker which can detect and block unsolicited calls and SMSs.

The company is offering this solution free to the first 10,000 users.

The CallBlocker can lock all contacts, phone numbers and text messages so that only its user can have access to the data, says a press release from Micro Tech.

The “highly customisable” product enables a user to choose from which person the calls and messages he is getting, to block.

The release points to a specific advantage — the ability to limit the number of calls the user may receive on any given day.

“For example, if you are running a new ad campaign, you don’t want to receive calls from a particular area and you can block that entire area code,” the release says.

The Mumbai-based IT company, which specialises in security devices and solutions, achieved a turnover of Rs 455.48 crore and a net profit of Rs 27 crore in 2011-12. Each share earned Rs 18.96.

On the BSE today, the Micro Tech share is currently trading at Rs 66.30, which is 45 paise higher than the previous close.
