Godrej Appliances and e-commerce site Indiatimes Shopping have formed a venture to set up an online brand store to retail appliances and durables.
The two firms hope to mop up revenue of Rs 100 crore a year from the venture in the next five years. According to the understanding with Indiatimes Shopping, logistics and shipping will be handled by Godrej Appliances through its 31 depots across the country.
Godrej Appliances Executive Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Kamal Nandi said, “Given the increase in online shopping, Godrej was keen to reach out to its loyal customers on the online platform.
The portal will offer consumer durables ranging from air-conditioners and refrigerators to washing machines and microwave ovens. Godrej Appliances is targeting to grow its online business at over 150 per cent annually.
