Online matchmaking portal Matrimony.com has registered a consolidated net profit of ₹19.2 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, up 63 per cent from the ₹11.7 crore reported in the same period last year.
Its revenues grew 13.7 per cent at ₹83.7 crore (₹73.6 crore).
Murugavel Janakiraman, Managing Director, said in a press statement: “Business is witnessing a healthy double digit growth with improved operating margins leading to higher cash flows.”
The matching making segment is the major revenue generator for the portal, at ₹79 crore (₹70.6 crore), up 12 per cent. The wedding services segment is still nascent, generating revenue of ₹4.6 crore (₹3 crore).
During the quarter, Matrimony.com expanded its photography service to Karnataka. It deployed its IPO proceeds towards the purchase of land and repayment of overdraft facility.
