India reported a total of 62,258 cases of Covid-19, the highest since October, during the last 2 hours, taking the total active caseload the country to over 4.5 lakh, a Union Health Ministry statement said on Saturday.
During the same period, more than 2.25 lakh beneficiaries received the Covid-19 vaccination, pushing up the cumulative vaccine doses delivered till date to 5.8 crore.
Six states accounted for nearly 80 per cent of the people resting positive for the viral infection on Friday. These States are Maharashtra which reported 36,902 cases, Pynjab (3,122), Chhattisgarh (2,665), Karnataka (2,566), Gujarat (2,190) and Madhya Pradesh (2,091).
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana and Delhi are other States more than 1,000 cases.
