The number of active Covid-19 cases in India fell below four

lakh to 3,96,729 after a gap of nearly five months as the country reported close to 33,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. During this
period as many as 39,109 people recovered and 391 persons succumbed to the infection.

India so far reported around 96.77 lakh confirmed cases, of which nearly 91.40 lakh recovered and 1,40,573 died.

During the last 24 hours, Maharashtra reported 5,755 new cases, Kerala 4,777, West Bengal 3,143 and Delhi 2,706 cases.

During the last 24 hours, a little over eight

lakh Covid-19 tests were carried out in the country, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.
