IIMB's summer placement

THIS year, summer placements at the Indian Institute of Bangalore were completed in a record two days' time.

According to Mr Ganesh Prabhu, Chairperson, Placements, IIMB, the entire batch has been placed in the first weekend of the placement process. Usually, summer placements is a long-drawn affair taking about three months to be completed with only about two-thirds of the students being placed in the first weekend.

This year, out of 243 offers, 24 are international internships offered by six companies: National Kidney Foundation, Lehman Brothers, Deutsche Bank, Olam International, Procter & Gamble and HSBC. Of the other 219 offers, 79 have come from the finance, banking and insurance sector - ICICI, Citibank and Metlife leading among them.

The FMCG sector also made a considerable number of offers (60 from 15 companies). Leading among them are HLL and Britannia. Wipro, Covansys, Cognizant Technologies are some of the IT companies that have offered summer internships for IIMB students.
