HYDERABAD: Global Hospitals has announced a special package for the poor and deserving by offering huge cuts in surgery and diagnostic prices.

"The subsidy will be borne by both the management and its senior consultants as part of their corporate social responsibility," Dr K. Ravindranath, Managing Director of the hospital, said in a press release.

On Saturdays, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of gallbladder) would be conducted for Rs 6,500 as against the usual Rs 15,000 and laparoscopic appendectomy (removal of appendix) for Rs 4,500 (Rs 10,500). The hospital also brought down charges for endoscopic services, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, piles surgery and coronary bypass surgery on specific days.
