Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: NIIT is organising `CareerScope 2004', an exhibition to create awareness among school and college students in Andhra Pradesh on the opportunities in Information Technology (IT), especially the number and kind of jobs available.

The month-long career fair during April to be held at the NIIT Centres in the State would also focus on the emerging areas and the hiring trends of companies. At the current rate of growth, India is expected to prepare 8.85 lakh professionals by 2008, compared to a demand of 11.20 lakhs, as per a NASSCOM forecast, indicating a huge scope for skilled computer and software professionals. Career Scope-2004 would hold counselling sessions for students and provide them with career guides. It would also showcase NIITs suite of learning products, both IT and IT-Assisted Education, according to a press release.
