Gems & Jewellery Shrenuj H1 net up at Rs 4.12 cr Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 9 SHRENUJ & Company Ltd posted sales of Rs 226.79 crore for the first six months ended September 2004, up from Rs 184.26 crore for the corresponding period of the previous year. Correspondingly, the profit before tax went up to Rs 6.49 crore from Rs 4.87 crore. After making necessary provisions, the net profit also jumped to Rs 4.12 crore (Rs 3.43 crore). As a result of this higher net profit, the EPS has looked up to Rs 3.78, up from Rs 3.15. "The numbers are indicative of the revival of the global economy and growth in global demand for diamonds. With countries like China emerging as a big diamond consumer, the sales can only go northwards," said Mr Shreyas Doshi, Managing Director of the company, in a release.
