Moumita Bakshi

New Delhi , Nov. 21

ATRENTA Inc, which offers predictive analysis and verification solutions to electronics and semiconductor companies, plans to ramp up its headcount in India to over 250 by 2006-end from the existing 140 professionals in support and development activities.

"We are continuously growing our strength in India. In 2001, we had 40 engineers. This has increased to 140, and will further touch 200 by 2005-end and over 250 professionals by 2006-end. This growth will take place in our Noida centre," said Mr John F. Rizzo, Vice-President (Marketing), at Atrenta.

. "We will grow our operations in all the areas, but bulk growth will be in research and development (R&D) and customer support operations," he said.

The company also plans to set up its operations in Bangalore by early next year. "In Bangalore, our operations will be customer-centric, in sales and marketing support. This is because a lot of our clients at the global level are doing development work in Bangalore," he said.

He said that Atrenta had invested $15 million in India till now, and was pumping in about $5-6 million every year.
