Tata Tele services in Tirunelveli

CHENNAI: Tata Indicom on Tuesday announced the launch of its services in Tirunelveli. The services will include CDMA mobiles - post-paid and pre-paid, fixed wireless telephones and public telephone booths.

With this, Tata Indicom's coverage has extended to 90 cities in Tamil Nadu, according to a press release from Tata Teleservices Ltd, the Tata group company that offers these services.

The release said that Tata Indicom would increase its footprint to 145 cities by March 2005. It said Tata Teleservices had invested Rs 840 crore of the Rs 1,100 crore it planned to invest in infrastructure in Tamil Nadu, and the balance would be invested during the course of this financial year. Tata Teleservices launched its services in the State in November 2002 and serves over three lakh customers now.
