Spot rubber prices static

AS most of the market participants were in a holiday mood, spot rubber prices closed almost static in a rather inactive market on Friday.

Sheet rubber closed static at Rs 53.25 as on Thursday.

The only variant of the day was ungraded rubber, which improved by 25 paise to Rs 49.50 on moderate north Indian enquiries.

The market will remain closed on Saturday on account of Christmas.

The rubber futures also quoted steady on Friday.

The January delivery was quoted at Rs 54.50 (54.41), February delivery at Rs 55.55 (55.54), March delivery at Rs 56.70 (56.56) and April delivery at Rs 57.80 (57.73) per kg for RSS 4.

RSS 3 was steady at Rs 52.08 at Bangkok while the January futures for the same grade was weak at 124.3 yen against 125.4 yen a kg at TOCOM.

The spot market rates per kg were: RSS 4 Rs 53.25 (Rs 53.25) RSS 5 Rs 50.50 (Rs 50.50) ungraded Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.25) ISNR 20 Rs 50.75 (Rs 50.75) latex 60 per cent Rs 40.50 (Rs 40.50)
