New Delhi , Oct. 4 CARTOON Network has just completed 10 years of existence in the country. To celebrate this achievement, the channel has unveiled a new logo and will launch new films for the forthcoming festive season. Speaking to newspersons, Mr Ian Diamond, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, said: "With the launch of Cartoon Network in 1995, we ventured into uncharted territory. The brand has grown in leaps and bounds and the characters have acquired iconic status." The broadcaster said that both Cartoon Network and Pogo are the top two channels in the kids' television genre. "Between them, the two networks occupy 75 per cent of the kids' channel shares, and of the top 100 programme episodes that are aired, 92 are on Cartoon Network and the remaining eight on Pogo," said Mr Anshuman Misra, Managing Director, Turner International India Pvt Ltd. A new logo has been created to appeal to Gen X and for the channel to reinvent itself. For Diwali, Cartoon Network will premier seven animated feature films including Balto, Alvin & Chipmunks - Meet The Wolfman, Thumbelina, Ramayana, and Vikram Betaal. In addition, it will air the fifth season of Pokemon: Master Quest. Pogo too will air some Hollywood blockbusters like Baby's Day Out, Home Alone, Richie Rich and two Harry Potter films. New shows such as Sabrina - The Teenage Witch, Woody Woodpecker and Malgudi Days would be aired. Toon Cricket too will enter its fifth year and former Pakistan and Australian skippers Wasim Akram and Mark Waugh are expected to join the fun.
