QualCore plans to offer embedded software services

QUALCORE Logic Ltd, a fabless semiconductor company, today announced its plans to expand its Indian design team from 200 to 300 by next year and add embedded software services to its portfolio.

The expansion is aimed at supporting global clients and new customer acquisitions in the Asia-Pacific region and the Indian market. The company provides application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that goes into chips to its clients.

The President and CEO, Mr Mahendra Jain, in a statement said that India was emerging as a silicon design destination.

QualCore's investment in Hyderabad is designed to intensify support in the Asian region for existing worldwide customer base and India's business segments of Government, Defence and space research organisations and MNCs operating in India.

The company plans to add embedded software services to its services portfolio, in addition to design services, mixed-signal and analog IP and custom chip development.

The Managing Director (India), Mr M.L.N. Acharyulu, said: "In one year since the sales and marketing efforts were initiated, the company has bagged contracts from MNCs and Government and Defence research organisations".
