Hyderabad , Feb. 9

MOSCHIP Semiconductor Technology Ltd, a fabless technology company, has announced the launch of two new bridge chips for computing and network connectivity applications, and maintained that it is on course to achieving a turnaround.

The company, which launched about 11 products last year, claimed it has turned cash-positive with its products receiving good response. Given the current trend and the acceptance of its products by the likes of NEC and Panasonic, it expects to turn profitable next year.

Addressing a press conference here today, the company said it has a comfortable cash position following the GDR offer, which helped it raise $7. 5 million.

The Chairman of MosChip, Mr K. Ramachandra Reddy, said the company was now scouting for strategic partners, who could help it tap new areas. Designed in India, its chips are manufactured in Asia and have worldwide market.

One of the products launched today is a programmable chip that addresses the need to connect USB (universal service buss) and provides for a versatile interface, the second addresses a different market segment of small office and home-office users.

The Vice-President and Marketing head of MosChip, based in the US, Mr Prem Talreja, said "Portability and convenience are driving the usage of products where MosChip has made a mark."

Mr Talreja said the market was shifting from traditional computing methodology to consumer-driven electronics where connectivity and portability in digital world were driving growth.
