Software Info-Tech - Off-shore Development Hyperion plans arm, to expand sales network Moumita Bakshi Chatterjee
New Delhi , March 14 Nasdaq-listed business performance management software company Hyperion has said it would launch a wholly owned subsidiary in India for sales and pre-sales activities, even as it plans to increase the number of implementation partners to tap the growth opportunities in the Indian market. "We plan to open two offices in India - in Mumbai and Bangalore - by July this year. We will have sales, pre-sales and partner enabling teams in these locations through our proposed subsidiary Hyperion Solutions India," Ms Suganthi Shivkumar, Managing Director - ASEAN/India, Hyperion Solutions Asia, told Business Line. She said that through a direct presence, the company planned to complement and support Indian partners and also increase its focus on large accounts. "We are seeing an increasing appetite of Indian clients to get into performance management. We are, therefore, going to enlarge the partner network in India," Ms Shivkumar said. A core team comprising sales professionals, partners, enablers and educators has been put together to identify opportunities and work with Indian clients in setting up a business performance management-enabled environment, she said.
Boutique partners
Hyperion's large system integration partners include TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Satyam. It also has three smaller `boutique partners' including Delhi-based company E Enable Technologies, and 3rdWave Solutions, which is headquartered in Mumbai. "By July, we plan to sign up two more boutique partners for which we are in discussions with Indian companies. We will also be focusing on partners who have strength in domains that could include ERP and finance," said Ms Shivkumar adding that the company was also open to partners capable of developing solutions on the Hyperion platform.
Client base
Hyperion's client base in India includes Reliance Industries, Maruti, Bharti, Hutch, Toyota, IBM Infotech, CitiGroup, American Express, Fidelity, IMRB International, and L&T Corporate. On the development side, the company works with two product development companies in Bangalore. The company has launched Hyperion System 9, a business performance management solution that can integrate financial management applications with the business intelligence platform. "This product has been well received by our clients in ASEAN and Asia Pacific. Given that Indian businesses are keen to enhance their performance to compete in the global marketplace, we are hopeful that India would become one of our most important markets soon," she said.
