Ramco Systems trims quarterly net loss

Ramco Systems Ltd reported lower net loss of Rs 3.82 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 compared to a net loss of Rs 30.03 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. This was because in the corresponding quarter of previous year there was an extraordinary item of expenditure of Rs 27.49 crore — value of impairment of assets — versus nil in the fourth quarter of 2005-06.

Revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 was Rs 33.77 crore (Rs 34.59 crore), total expenditure was Rs 31.14 crore (Rs 30.98 crore) and interest was Rs 2.78 crore (Rs 2.72 crore).

For the year ended March 31, 2006 the company's net loss was Rs 34.06 crore (Rs 40.36 crore) on revenues of Rs 117.46 crore (Rs 115.48 crore).
