The Hindu Business Line : Now, Gujarat execs can tone up with the Kerala touch

Dhanwanthari Vaidyasala of Kerala has tied up with the Cambay Spa and Resort here to offer ayurvedic massages and other spa facilities, mainly targeted at corporate honchos and the growing number of BPO executives in Gujarat.

The 75-year-old Vaidyasala has deputed ten therapists to cater to corporate executives and their families visiting the resort for a combination of leisure and healthcare. The Vaidyasala would mainly offer services and material. By November, the 35-room resort will be expanded to offer 103 rooms, a six-hole golf club and golf course, four restaurants and two convention centres to host several corporate gatherings connected with the State Government's upcoming `Vibrant Gujarat and Global Investors' Summit'.

Cambay is a venture of the hospitality and healthcare group Neesa Leisure Ltd. After breaking even within two years, it is setting up a string of star hotels in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi as well as a Spa Academy near Jaipur.

Mr Sanjay Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer, said that the company aimed to increase its turnover to Rs 50 crore in two years, from this year's projected Rs 13 crore. The company may go in for an IPO next year, he added.

Earlier, the company's Managing Director, Mr Arvind Gupta, and Spa chief Dr Hitender Mahajan, told a news conference that theDhanwanthari Vaidyasala runs full-fledged treatment centres in Thodupuzha, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kannur and Hyderabad. It has more than 50 branches and nearly 100 agencies. It exports medicines to Australia, Malaysia and West Asia.

It offers patented drugs for diabetes and joint pain, and has developed others at its R&D Centre in Thodupuzha. Besides ayurveda, the resort would offer other therapies and health rejuvenation techniques too.
