Bangalore , Oct. 6 Visvesvaraya Technological University has roped in Bangalore-based Liqwid Krystal's GyanX portal for online learning. The Web site hosted by Liqwid Krystal (LK) will offer 32 courses to students over three years. Besides technical courses, soft skills such as "business writing" and "effective e-mail communication" have been included. Students can log in to GyanX using their university serial number, which will offer a custom package of courses and even e-books. "It takes 6-12 months for a book to come to Indian markets. By then, the technology could be obsolete. With GyanX, engineering students can read up on 50 plus e-books even from home," said Mr Anand Adkoli, CEO, Liqwid Krystal. GyanX also connects to job portals such as CyberMedia Dice. "We hope this will offer our students better placements," said Mr Balaveera Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Visvesvaraya Technological University. Liqwid Krystal is talking to Andhra University, Anna University, UP Tech University and Delhi University to deploy GyanX. The platform can service 2.5 lakh students. The Bangalore-based Liqwid Krystal which raised $2.5 million in funding in '99 is a profitable company.
