ON RISING DEMAND: Organic fruits and vegetables on display at a stall at the India Organic Trade Fair 2006 in Bangalore on Thursday. With demand rising for organic products, the National Centre for Organic Farming has urged the Planning Commission to earmark Rs 2,500 crore for the sector during the 11th Plan. Over 2.75 lakh hectares of land are currently under organic cultivation.
