Mixed trend in rubber

The weekend witnessed a mixed mood in physical rubber prices. The session was rather dull as there was no global guidance to set the trend.

Sheet rubber remained static at Rs 76.50 a kg at Kottayam, while it improved by 50 paise to reach the same target at Kochi. Ungraded rubber lost sharply lacking support from the non-tyre sector amidst slightly improved supply.

Futures weak

The rubber futures ended marginally weak on NMCE. The last traded price for December contract was quoted at Rs 73.75 (Rs 74.09), January at Rs 72.80 (Rs 72.94), February at Rs 73.60 (Rs 73.84) and March contract at Rs 74.50 (Rs 74.86) per kg for RSS 4. The spot prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 76.50 (Rs 76.50); RSS-5: Rs 74.50 (Rs 74.50); ungraded: Rs 71.50 (Rs 73.00); ISNR 20: Rs 74.00 (Rs 74.50)

and latex 60 per cent: Rs 48.40 (Rs 48.40).
