700 VSNL staff opt for VRS

New Delhi , Nov. 29

The Tata-managed Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) on Wednesday announced the closure of its third voluntary retirement scheme (VRS). About 700 employees are understood to have availed themselves of the scheme.

A senior VSNL executive said that the move was aimed at right sizing the organisation to meet the global challenges.
