GAINS LIKELY: Different varieties of rice displayed for sale at a shop in Kochi, Kerala. Demand for rice exports from countries such as Africa and West Asia is expected to pick up this month and India is seen as one of the gainers as buyers continue with their policy of not depending on a single source of supply. Also, lower stocks of white rice in Pakistan could help India make some gain.
