The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will take steps to develop the film industry and help increase its share in the global film market to five per cent in 2007 from the existing two per cent. Inaugurating the India chapter of the US-Asia Business Forum here , Mr P.R. Dasmunsi, Union Minister of I&B, said that five core groups set up for this purpose would submit their suggestions shortly.

Efforts are on to step up Indian presence at various film festivals such as Cannes, he said.
