Mumbai, March 14

Travelmartindia has launched a mobile phone booking and payment service, the company announced in a statement on Wednesday. Cell phone users can browse flight schedules, make bookings and pay for their tickets using SMS. Wireless transactions platform provider Paymate powers the payment module. US based C-Sam Inc run by Mr Sam Pitroda provides the technology for the service.

Travelmartindia has also partnered with Delhi-based mobile technology solution provider Voltish to place its entire Web site on the .mobi domain — a domain that allows Web sites to be customised for mobile phone screens — using J2ME technology making it easier to browse using a handheld device.
