Educomp buying Singapore co

New Delhi, June 8

The Delhi-based Educomp Solutions Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the company has signed the sale and purchase agreement with a majority of the shareholders to acquire Ask n Learn Inc, an education technology company headquartered in Singapore. The total acquisition price is Singapore $5.98 million in cash in addition to options worth S$1.05 million.

The company has set up a special purpose vehicle to complete the acquisition. This acquisition will provide Educomp a substantial share of the education market in Singapore and add over 100 schools to its portfolio as well as serve as a platform for penetration into the larger Asia-Pacific region.
