Hardware Marketing - New Products & Services MRO-TEK unveils new switch
Bangalore, July 11 Networking product vendor MRO-TEK announced the availability of Daisy 105 M, a switch that carries ethernet network data beyond the 100-metre limitation. This 5-port mid-span power-over-ethernet (PoE)-managed switch powers remote appliances such as IP phones and switches. Ethernet distributions are controlled and managed only up to the last mile active ethernet switches and media converters. Daisy 105M eliminates the need for separate power line on the ethernet by using t he DC power to extend beyond 100 m by cascading units to reach up to 300 m, over standard cabling plant. Daisy’s enhanced power carrying capacity and multi-hop connectivity is possible with a proprietary, patent pending implementation of PoE, which allows more current per port, and enabling powering of remote appliances such as the IAD, IP phones, switches etc. “With millions of switched ethernet ports sold worldwide, PoE has become one of the largest mainstream technologies to deliver power on ethernet cables,” said Mr Ramakrishnan, Vice-President - Marketing, MRO-TEK Ltd, in an official release. — Our Bureau
