Strategy Info-Tech - Software Industry & Economy - Radio/TV Cisco solution for Asianet’s digital cable services Our Bureau Kochi, Oct. 4 Asianet has announced that it has been awarded the Cisco Powered Network (CPN) designation for deploying an end-to-end Cisco and Scientific Atlanta solution for delivering Digital Cable Services. The Cisco Powered Network programme is a co-marketing programme involving leading service providers with networks built on Cisco’s industry leading technology. Utilising Cisco’s powerful network technology in its digital cable service infrastructure, Asianet continues to be a leading force in the digital TV space, a press release issued here has said. The end-to-end digital video solution provided by Cisco and Scientific Atlanta includes a Scientific Atlanta digital Head, Integrated Receiver Decoders (IRDs), encoders, PowerKey, digital set-top boxes, and Cisco CMTS and IP optical transport technology. “By choosing an end-to-end provider, we have relieved ourselves from having to go through the challenges of integrating and managing a complex set of equipment from different vendors. We can now focus on our core business of providing world-class TV viewing experience to our customers,” Mr Mahesh Kumar, CEO of Asianet, said.
