ClickJobs plans to host more fairs overseas

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad, March 13

Job portal ClickJobs.com is on consolidation mode — building synergies with group portals, tapping loyal member base and partners in other media, while mining into overseas markets with job fairs.

Now rated as the fourth largest job portal in the country, others being Naukri.com, Monster and Timesjobs, it is in pursuit of becoming the third largest job site in the country, according to Mr Uday Zokarkar, Chief Business Officer of Clickjobs.

Part of the BharatMatrimony, now Consim Info, it recently received a second round of funding of $11.65 million. Its earlier investors Yahoo and Cannan Partners had parked $8.65 million.

Speaking to Business Line recently, Mr Zokarkar said the portal that entered the market with its services about 16 months ago, now has over 2.5 million registered job seekers on site and the number continues to swell rapidly as the company added job alerts through the mobile phone, which has become popular.

The portal has IT and ITES as the biggest category followed by retail, telecom and manufacturing. “Being funded initially by Yahoo, we have a tie-up with them, he said.

“Now the accent is on conducting job fairs overseas and we are looking at other regions to help Indians in their mission to come back. A generation of Indians based in the US are keen to return and find this a convenient option. We plan to host more job fairs overseas,” he said.

The job market is estimated at about Rs 1,600 crore and growing at a rapid pace and a big chunk is addressed by recruiters themselves, who use job sites and pay for them.
