Bangalore, March 27 Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), a technology venture capital firm, said on Thursday it appointed Mr Mohan Kumar as Executive Director of NVP India.

Mr Kumar would be based in NVP India’s new Bangalore office, and will focus on technology investments in India, the company said in a statement.

Previously, Mr Kumar has worked with Motorola and Texas Instruments.

Mr Promod Haque, Managing Partner at NVP, said the company believes next-generation technologies are beginning to be developed in India, and early adopters of such technologies would be from the subcontinent.

NVP India, which started its Mumbai office in 2007, has made direct investments in companies such as Adventity, Persistent Systems, Sulekha.com and Yatra, the company said.
