Channels and Franchises States - Kerala Universal gets Toonz film rights Thiruvananthapuram, May 26 The city-based Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd has announced that the distribution rights of its feature film Mostly Ghostly have been acquired by Universal Studios. Scheduled to be released in October this year, in time for Halloween, the film is being made with a budget of $3.6 million and is solely funded by Toonz Animation, says a company press statement. The film is based on the first book in the eight-book Mostly Ghostly series by author R.L. Stine. It chronicles the adventures of Max, an 11-year-old outcast, as he protects the sibling ghosts Nicky and Tara who live in his house from the fume-spewing demon Phears. Mostly Ghostly, the film, is directed by Mr Rich Correll, the co-creator of the television series Hannah Montana, the statement adds. “We are hopeful that Mostly Ghostly will be well received by children as well as adults alike,” said Mr P.
