Rubber Spot rubber prices rise to record high Aravindan Kottayam, July 31 The domestic rubber managed to reach another all time high on Thursday. Sheet rubber RSS 4 rose sharply to Rs 142 from Rs 139 a kg on renewed buying interest as the trend setting global futures took a turn to close in the positive zone. The volumes were moderate. The market has entered into dangerous levels as it rules almost Rs 10 above the international rates. Most of the tyre companies have very low stocks and they could not refrain from trading for a long time though the prices remain at record levels, an analyst said. August futures firmMeanwhile certain buyers from the tyre sector were active on sheet rubber at the quoted levels. The August futures for RSS 3 firmed up to ¥336.4 (Rs 132.28) from ¥333.2, September to ¥333.8 (¥331.1), October to ¥332.9 (¥330), November to ¥332.1 (¥328.5), December to ¥331.3 (¥328.2) and January to ¥332.5 (¥329) a kg at TOCOM. RSS 3 (spot) slipped to Rs 133.83 (134.06) a kg at Bangkok. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 142 (139); RSS-5: 139 (136.50); ungraded: 136 (133); ISNR 20: 137.50 (135) and latex 60 per cent: 90 (90).
