Internet Industry & Economy - Employment Job portal for senior citizens Our Bureau Chennai, Aug 3 ActivAge, a joint initiative between ICICI Prudential and Dignity Foundation, an NGO, on Saturday announced the launch of a job portal for senior citizens — dignitysecondcareers.org. This portal is meant to provide retirees a platform to explore opportunities that will enable them to continue to utilise their expertise and to encourage them to lead an active post-retirement life. Unveiling the portal here, Ms Shikha Sharma, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, said the portal will bring together companies who are open to enrich and benefit from the rich experiences of the retired people and those who are enthusiastic to pursue careers post their retirement. The portal will popularise the concept of re-employment of retired people at a time when there is a great need for experienced and skilled personnel, she said. Job fitAccording to Dr Sheilu Sreenivasan, Founder President of Dignity Foundation, the portal has been designed to be a virtual platform which can be accessed by retirees and employers for preliminary skills-job fit assessment.
