The Hindu Business Line : `Cognos market leader in BI'

Forrester Research Inc has recognised Cognos, an IBM company as market leader in business intelligence (BI) reporting and performance management platforms. The Research firm has, in its July 2008 report, `The Forrester Wave: Enterprise Business Intelligence Platforms' noted that Cognos 8 BI v 8.3 provided a modern and scalable BI environment.

Cognos sources said its BI platform provided decision makers groundbreaking capabilities to better manage performance by delivering a consistent, accurate view of all business information. "The latest version helps integrate with multiple systems and data sources easily, improves user adoption, enables better decision-making and provides robust foundation for departmental BI and enterprise BI", its Vice President Worldwide Marketing (BI and Performance Management), Mr Dave Laverty, said. -Our Bureau
