New Delhi, Nov. 7 Educomp Solutions Ltd, in collaboration with IT company Intel, has launched Educomp O3 Learning System for one-on-one learning in schools. The company said it is planning to deploy the system in a slew of private and public-run schools.

“Under the Educomp O3 programme, every child in a class will be equipped with Intel powered Classmate PC with applications and features designed for one-on-one learning in schools,” Mr Shantanu Prakash, Manging Director, Educomp, told reporters here.

He said Educomp and Intel ran pilot projects for the O3 programme across eight schools in India. “This year, we plan to introduce our O3 programmes in around 50-75 schools across India.”

Asked if the company had put a brake on its expansions following the slowdown, he said Educomp’s capex plans for the current fiscal were on track. “Our capex of Rs 300 crore is very much on track and there are no plans to revise it.”

He also said the company is fully funded for its capital expenditure and does not intend to raise any additional funds.

The company is also planning to bid for nearly 3,000 school orders under instructional and computing technology programme.

“We had given a guidance of 12,000-14,000 schools under the ICT scheme. We are looking to bid for 3,000 more orders,” he said.
