State Bank of Indore staff to strike work

New Delhi, June 19 The merger process of State Bank of Indore with the State Bank of India may face stiff opposition from the employees and officers of the subsidiary.

The employees of State Bank of Indore will go on a “protest strike” on June 22, Mr C. H. Venkatachalam, General Secretary of the All India Bank Employees Association, told Business Line.

The officers of State Bank of Indore who owe allegiance to the All India Bank Officers’ Association will also strike work that day. State Bank of Indore has over 7,000 employees and officers.

A nation-wide strike in all SBI associate banks has been planned for July 3.
