MTNL appoints Talwar as ED for Delhi

NEW DELHI: State-owned telecom company MTNL on Tuesday said it has appointed Mr S M Talwar as Executive Director (ED) for the Delhi circle.

Prior, to this Mr Talwar was the Chief General Manager (South) for MTNL Delhi, the telecom company said in a statement.

“Talwar has been promoted as Executive Director, MTNL Delhi and on superannuation of Mr A K Arora, he shall be taking over the charge of ED, MTNL Delhi from 1.9.2008,” it added.

In his career span of more than three decades, Mr Talwar has held important positions in the Department of Telecom. He worked as Group General Manager (MM) from August 1995 to September 1998 in Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd, (TCIL) for procur ement of material for the inland or overseas project.

He worked as Area General Manager in Thane and South area of MTNL Mumbai, from October 2000 to October 2006. On promotion he was transferred as Chief General Manager, Orissa Telecom Circle, in-charge for operation and maintenance of Telecom network from 2006 to 2008.

He was also served as the Chairman of IETE (Institute of Electronics & Telecom Engineering) Orissa during his tenure in the State. - PTI
