Internet Know your Co.
Paromita Pain Want insider information on the company of your choice? Employed for a while and want to change but don’t know what the fine print really says? Log on to Talent Equity ( www.talentequity.in), which reaches out to professionals at various stages of their working life. Set up recently by Manish Raghuvanshi and Indrojit D. Chaudhuri, the site compiles dat abases on companies based on reviews posted by employees past and present. “Often people want to know how much colleagues make or what employees feel about the company they work for? We provide information about the qualitative and quantitative aspects of working in a particular company. Feedback becomes the basis of rating employers, both current and previous. This collective pool of information is available to visitors to help them identify the ideal prospective employer and plan their future better. We already have over 2,000 reviews for more than 500 of India’s leading companies,” the site’s creators say. The site, however, isn’t a place for badmouthing either employers or employees, they say. “This platform is for both employee and employer. The employee can share his/her viewpoint anonymously. The site helps in reducing the uncertainties associated with making a job switch. Employers can understand their image amongst the users and take steps to manage their brand perception.” The idea for the site emerged when the two were recruiting for their organisation and struggled to find and retain the right talent. “We have had numerous Web sites talking about the number of resumes in their database and an equal number of employers in their kitty to choose from. This made us explore further and understand that we really don’t know what employees want or what they are looking for in their workplaces. We took this as an opportunity to launch www.talentequity.in,” says Chaudhuri. Besides upgrades to the site, they plan to create a networking opportunity for users. “This would help the users create their list of favourite companies that they want to watch. They can also comment on the existing review(s) with their viewpoints,” say the creators. More Stories on : Internet | Human Resources
