Jubilant FoodWorks, the company which operates Dominos Pizza and Dunkin Donut chains, has posted a 5.13 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 34 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2013, as compared to Rs 32.34 crore in the same period a year ago.

Net sales rose 26.07 per cent to Rs 396.42 crore from Rs 314.44 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a statement.

The company said in Q1 FY14, it has focused on brand development, menu innovation, and geographic growth, while balancing solid cost discipline at all operational levels. Profit remained at stable levels owing to moderated consumer spends, increased income-tax surcharge and depreciation expenses due to rapid expansion of the restaurant network, the company said in the statement.

Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd said, “Our restaurant network for both Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts has been on the growth track with us opening 26 and 4 new restaurants respectively. We had planned for a continued arduous environment and have worked in line to deliver healthy results for the quarter.

This quarter, with respect to Domino’s Pizza we are now present across 128 cities and incase of Dunkin’ Donuts we have increased penetration in the existing four cities by opening new restaurants.

The company said that it has increased the presence of Domino’s Pizza network in towns such as Erode, Baramati, Hosur, Cuttack, Haldwani.

The company also said its online ordering platform is growing. Currently, there are over 8.1 lakh downloads of the mobile ordering app across various smart-phones. Online ordering to delivery sales was at 20 per cent during the quarter while mobile ordering sales contributed about 10 per cent during the quarter.
