The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) has announced admissions to the 10th batch of its postgraduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGPPM).
The PGPPM is targeted at professionals keen to get engaged in policy making and public system management. The course is meant for candidates from both the Government and other non-Government sectors, said a press statement issued by IIM-B.
Launched about a decade ago, the postgraduate programme was primarily meant for mid-career officers from the civil services, said Prof G. Ramesh, Chairperson, PGPPM.
The course was started to meet the need for an educational programme in public policy for officers from the IAS, IPS, IFS and other services.
“In recent years, the programme has been opened to candidates from outside the Government as also to overseas applicants, and we are witnessing strong interest from these candidates,” he said in the statement.
The programme aims at strengthening the public policy and managerial skills of future leaders and senior managers from the civil services and professionals from the social, infrastructure and private sectors.
It is designed for professionals from NGOs, international agencies, public sector units, infrastructural and social sectors, consulting and other service sectors. The programme targets professionals with a minimum of five years of experience.
