Activa, the successful scooter from Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, has got a fourth generation upgrade, called the Activa 4G.
The 110 cc scooter, which Honda claims was the world’s largest selling two-wheeler last year, gets a new front centre cover design and is available in two new colours — Matte Selene Silver Metallic and Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
It retains the tried and tested 109 cc Honda Eco Technology Engine, which is now BS IV compliant. It dishes out 8 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and a torque of 9 Nm at 5,500 rpm.
According to Honda, the Activa’s latest iteration also gets the Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer technology, which distributes braking force between the front and rear wheels.
CBS becomes mandatory for all two-wheelers up to 125 cc from April next year. The Activa 4G also gets a mobile charging socket, which should appeal to the smartphone generation, and a retractable front hook. The scooter also gets a safety boost, with the Automatic Headlamp On feature.
It is available for a price of ₹50,730 (ex-showroom Delhi).
