Internet Info-Tech - Internet Recruit as you browse with Monster.com C.R. Sukumar
HYDERABAD, Jan. 27 GOOD news for employers and recruiters! They can now manage the entire recruiting process through Internet browser. Monsterindia.com, the Hyderabad-based joint venture initiative between the US-based $440-million Monster.com and the Australia-based Internet investment major, ecorp Ltd, is enabling this. Monster Office HQ (MOHQ), a Web-based recruitment products and services suite developed by Monster, contains solutions that enable recruiters to manage their daily workflow online from sourcing, searching and screening of candidates to tracking, managing and reporting. "The recruitment suite is quite inexpensive, simple to implement, helps employers find high-quality candidates more quickly and cost-efficiently via any Internet browser," claims Mr Dhruv Shenoy, the Monsterindia.com Marketing Manager. According to him, the number of job seekers turning to online recruiting methods has rocketed since 1996 and Internet penetration in the Asia-Pacific remains high, with 45 per cent of the total population using the Net in some way or the other. Online recruitment and job search was predicted to become as common a source of job vacancies as newspapers now are and the preferred vehicle for individuals looking for jobs. The suite developed by Monsterindia.com was designed for HR professionals in organisations of all sizes, recruitment agencies, Internet recruiters, third-party recruiters and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). MOHQ facilitates effective collaboration among teams of recruiters and internal communication throughout the recruitment process. Apart from greater transparency, it provides control over the entire hiring process, he says. According to Mr Dhruv, employers in India who have signed up with Monsterindia.com will have the benefit of a large database of quality candidates with over 1.5 lakh resumes. Over 2.05 lakh job seekers have registered their details with Monsterindia.com and over 73 per cent of these job seekers have a formatted and searchable resume already stored in the Monster resume database. "When the employer posts a job with Monster.com, there is no waiting for the week-end classifieds. The job appears live on the Internet immediately and the employer can start reviewing applications within minutes. He can amend or close his job offer at any time. Alternatively, he can search the database of resumes and find the ideal candidate without advertising. By accessing the local country, regional and global Monster resume databases, the employer will be able to search millions of resumes immediately. MOHQ is a suite of quick and detailed search tools that makes it fast and simple for the employer to find the best candidates," Mr Dhruv claims. Stating that the user interface of MOHQ featured easy access to all job-related information through a folder system, Mr Dhruv said the folder system provided a central location to create, store, manage and organise all recruiting activities associated with each job. "A series of search options helps the employer effectively target the most qualified candidate based on specific hiring needs by searching the Monster resume database. Customised questions enable the recruiter to effectively pre-screen and rank applicants and quickly establish the suitability of the candidate to the job. MOHQ will also enable the recruiter to perform tasks to multiple candidates such as sending personalised standard letters." According to Mr Dhruv, when the employer posts his job on Monster.com, he can take as much space as he needs to explain his specifications for the job. He can profile his company on the Web site of Monster and also provide a link to his corporate Web site. "That way, the employer can help potential candidates understand more about his company, the culture and the qualities he is looking for. As a result, the employer receives a greater percentage of candidates with not only the right skills set, but also a personal profile in line with his company's core values and objectives," Mr Dhruv added.
